With that last group photo, we all know SHE knows what's going on. Man, are you spoiled! I wished I were spoiled. I've been doing more honey-do's than hunting.

I'm sorry I started a thread hijacking here.

I'm actually an AZ native, I just lived in CA for about 10 years off and on, the last 6 in Northern CA. I've been back here for about 26 months, making me a legal resident here again.

It could be the moving thing, or maybe the fact that my father and I both have the same first and last name and middle initial. I don't know, but I'm gonna get my CCW then I won't have to wonder anymore. As I said, I can wait, it's just annoying to not know why I'm waiting.

I was living in Forestville, right along the Russian River, do you know where that is? I was just off of River road in between Santa Rosa and Guerneville, right in the middle of the redwoods.
While I truly hate the politics of that area, it was the most beautifull place I've ever been, and I miss the fishing, Sturgeon, Halibut, Salmon, Bass, Trout, catfish, Rockfish, Stripers, Batrays..... and I never took advantage of the fantistic wild pig hunting up there or the duck hunting in the delta. Now that I'm getting back into hunting, I see what I missed up there.

RatFink, I know exactly where that is. The Russian River area is a gem and one of my most favorite areas to visit.

When I was a teenager, some friends of ours had a cabin in Guerneville and our family used to vacation there. They had a dock on the river, we'd lay out on the dock, relax, and take in the scenery.

My brother and I would rent a canoe at Johnson's Beach. We'd paddle down the river and back up to the beach. We'd paddle real slow down the river (clothing is optional along the river - sorry guys, I know this is a G-rated site)

I didn't do too much fishing there, but I did manage to catch a few catfish, bass, and steelhead on a few trips to the river.

I agree with you on the politics. I call the area "Berkeley along the river", very liberal/left wing community. Not my cup of tea, but the beauty of the area compensates for it.

It's a small world, haven't come across too many folks who know about Guerneville!

Guerneville now has a higher percentage of it's population living with aids than S.F., it's a cool little town but it's full of some serious deviants and a big Crystal Meth problem. They had a womens day there every year, which was just a chance for Huge Lesbian women to run around the streets half naked.

I know the beaches you mentioned, and considered visiting the XXX beaches but just couldn't do it.

If you know where the bridge is on River Road that crosses the Russian River then you know right where my house was, I lived right behind the little market there.

I miss the place a lot, it was very peaceful, pitch black and silent at night. I knew most of the people on my street and since we got flooded out every other year we all helped each other.
I mostly miss the outdoors stuff there, there isn't a time of year that you catch find big fish to catch, and picking abalone is a blast.

sigh......

I knew about the gay population, but not the crystal meth (too bad). My teen years were during the 70's (yes, I'm old), so things were a little more innocent back then (Hells Angels and a few rednecks is all).

I know the bridge you're talking about, been over that narrow structure many times. Do you remember the super slide? Man, we used to have a blast riding the slide and the go carts down the road.

And the floods...it seemed every year the floods would occur and most everyone was rebuilding their decks and bailing water from their homes.

Ahhh memories...I do miss that place, nothing like it here or anywhere for that matter.

HEHE, I rode those go carts when I first moved there in "95" they were closed down though I think a few years ago.

Yes, it's a wonderful place, full of colorful people.
