Yep,
the commanding officers house, Fort Verde State Park.

If you live anywhere close, it's worth a visit. Lots of historic stuff (uniforms, guns, sabers, tack, etc.) 4 original buildings, including the surgeons house (Elliot Coues was the Doc for a while, so was (Edgar?) Mearns.) Names ring a bell? While Army doctors they were also some of the first college educated naturalists in Arizona

And the State plans to close it the first part of March, so check it out while you can!

Huh, I harvested a cow elk very near there a few years ago on a "depredidation hunt". Beautiful country with some interesting Indian ruins etc..
I'm sick over all the park closures. I really don't understand the lack of common sense we are surrounded with these days. Still some good events coming up and as Sycamore say's, do it while you can. After 30 years in this state I'm really scared for it's future. The closures will only hurt the economy more due to lack of tourism dollors and increased wear on unprotected lands. Where do you think people are going to hike, etc.. They will be walking through your hunting areas!
May be time for me to move.
